Hey! How about that Joomla?

June 16th, 2008 · No Comments

Hi All,

I’ve just been checking out Joomla. That’s fantastic stuff, considering that it’s all Open Source and free. Have a look at Joomla Art if you want some neat templates to develop a really classy site.

I’ve got Joomla installed but I haven’t gone public yet - still working on the templates and all of the content. Talk about a great Content Management System. I have not even started to find out all of the bits it does!

Well, back to the drawing board. Watch out for a new Joomla site here soon.

Cheers

Learning from the best.

May 14th, 2008 · No Comments

Hiya again everybody,

I’ve been doing some blog homework today, and studying up under some of the greats. Guys like Michael Martine at http://michaelmartine.com and the guys at http://www.lsblogs.com.

I’ve really learned heaps and hope to put some of it into practice here. I’ve added DISQUS for comments, so I hope that helps too.

Drop us a line, any time, if you have any more good hints and tips I can use here on my Blog.

Cheers

Hospitals aren’t fun - but they do work.

May 12th, 2008 · No Comments

Hi All,

Well we’ve just come back from a fun 8 days in hospital.  Just a little hernia patch to put in place but it had some interesting turns.  All went well the first day but by three days after the op all was decidedly NOT well.   Enter surgeons stage left.  Tubes everywhere.  Barium meals.  X-rays.  Intensive care.  Ha, THAT was fun.  But it all worked out well and soon I was back to normal.

Whilst I was in there I had occasion  to see and hear others in a similar predicament and I can honestly say that my troubles were small by comparison.  Some people were in a lot of pain and all the meds in the world could not quite keep things under control.  Thank god for medicinal morphine.  It makes life JUST bearable for people in extreme pain.

The moral of the story is, no matter how bad we feel, there is always someone worse off than we are.  So grin and bear it and get on with life.  There is just so much to enjoy.

Catch you again soon.

New look? Looking gooooooooood………

January 30th, 2008 · No Comments

Hi out there people,

Especially you tree people, way up the back there. Good to see you here tonight (apologies to Neil Diamond, Hot August Night…LOL).

Well we’ve been busy down here in the Elf workshop. Check out the new look home page at Alphatech5.com

It used to load like a slug - 4 to 5 seconds worth. Too many graphics? Now its a bullet - loads in 0.62 seconds. Good old Dreamweaver and CSS. Gotta love those style sheets.

I feel so good about the new look I celebrated. Woooooooohooooooooo………Google updated the site to a PR4. Gotta be doing something right??? Trouble is, I don’t know EXACTLY what’s working and what isn’t….. ha ha.

Anyway, share a bit of sunshine and have a happy day:
